Francesco Cera (harpsichord) I Barocchisti/Diego Fasolis ARTS SACD 47729-8 The lightest and most buoyant recording of the Bach concertos I have heard in years. Bach was the first to use the harpsichord as concert solo instrument, and it was soon to be susperceded by the piano, in its changing forms, as the favoured solo keyboard instrument until the end of the 18th C. Lovely tone quality and balance. Surely no-one will want to continue hearing modern pianos in this music? Recommended unreservedly. Peter Grahame Woolf |
